Creating a Site with FTP as the Site Type
When creating a site where FTP is this site type. You can set the environment to Local or Live. Sites created where FTP is the site type, can only be used the destination site.
Site uses:
- When the Environment is Local
- The created site can only be used as a Destination site for the Pull method
- When the Environment is Live
- The created site can only be used as a Destination Site for the deploy method
Creating a Site:
When you have selected an environment and a site type you’ll see the following fields.
- Name: (This will be the name of the site used to identify the site in the site list.)
- WordPress Site URL: (This will be the URL of the destination site)
NOTE: Depending on your environment selection; different sections will be displayed.
If you selected LOCAL as your chosen Environment:
This is the directory selector for a Local FTP site. This maps the directory to the URL of your Local WordPress installation.
e.g My local directory where my WordPress installation lives, is in c:\users\stewt\sites\projects\a_website
NOTE: For sites with local as the environment and FTP as the site type. You do not need to enter any FTP details. The directory selector is enough for us to process your migration
If you selected LIVE as your chosen Environment:
This is where you will enter the FTP details for your destination site server. We will not show you how to get your FTP details here, we cover that in our in-depth hosting guides.
Entering your Database Details:
Enter your database details for your destination site, these details will be validated. We will not show you how to get your Database details here, we cover that in our in-depth hosting guides.
Once you’ve entered all your site details. Click on the “Save” button
