Creating a Site in Transferito Desktop
In order to start your migrations, you’re going to need at least one site. These are called sites but they are the migrations details that we need to process your WordPress Migration. This will be explained in more detail as you progress through the Transferito Desktop guides.
To Add a New Site:
- Click on the site navigation menu item,
- Then click on the add a site button.
Add Site Screen:
This will take you to the add a site screen, on the add site screen you will see 4 main fields.
- The Environment – (This will be either Local or Live)
- The Site Type – (There are 3 options but depending on the environment selected these will change)
- The Nickname
- The WordPress Site URL
Based on your environment and the site type selection, additional fields will be presented for you to enter your site details.
Migration Types:
We can group the sites we want to create for our migration into categories;
Pull:
Creating the sites as below will allow you to use the pull migration method – to pull a live site directly into your Local development environment.
Active Site
Your active site will be a Live WordPress site
- Environment: LIVE
- Site Type: WordPress Login Details
Destination Site
Your destination site will be a Local environment
- Environment: LOCAL
- Site Type: FTP
Deploy:
Creating the sites as below will allow you to use the Deploy migration method – to deploy a Local or Live site to any hosting provider or server.
Active Site
Your active site can be a Live or Local WordPress site
- Environment: LIVE OR LOCAL
- Site Type: WordPress Login Details
Destination Site
Your destination site will be a Live environment
- Environment: LIVE
- Site Type: FTP or cPanel
