Creating a Site with cPanel as the Site Type

When creating a site where FTP is this site type. You can only set the environment Live. Sites created where FTP is the site type, can only be used the destination site.

Creating a Site:

When you have selected an environment and a site type you’ll see the following fields.

  • Name: (This will be the name of the site used to identify the site in the site list.)
  • WordPress Site URL: (This will be the URL of the destination site)

cPanel Details:

There are two required fields, which are your cPanel username & your cPanel API Token. The cPanel URL is optional but keep reading as we explain why this is shortly.

Getting your cPanel URL – (Optional)

This field is optional and is only required you when you are not able to connect to your destination server by using your WordPress site URL. You can either use your cPanel IP address prefixed with “http://” or your cPanel domain without :2083

Getting your cPanel Username:

This is the cPanel username we will use to connect to your cPanel account.

Getting your cPanel API Token:

Follow the steps below to get your cPanel API Token.

Type API token to the search bar and click Manage API Tokens

Click Create

Give the API Token a name, then click create

Entering your cPanel Details:

Then enter, your username and API token into the field, as shown below.

Once you’ve entered all your site details click on the save button.
